Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic GP to join our friendly, supportive, and motivated practice team in Putney, South West London.
The GP will work 4-7 sessions with the option to work 1 session remotely.
The clinical working pattern will be 13 x 15 mins appointments AM & PM.
We have 21,200 patients but our catchment area is small and most patients live within walking distance or a short bus/bike ride. Because Wandsworth is such a young borough we don't have as many frail elderly as some parts of the country and this means that we don't have high numbers of home visits. It would be highly unusual to have more than one or two visits per month.
We are strongly supportive of our salaried doctors taking on external facing roles or specialising in an area of clinical interest as a GP with extended role (GPwER). A number of our doctors have done additional post graduate training and then set up services open to patients in the wider locality. One of our GPs is the clinical director of the local PCN and also sits on the board of the GP federation in Wandsworth.
Any GP that joins our team will feel well supported by the broad skill mix offered by the practice multidisciplinary team. These expert staff allows us to keep much more of our treatment and care in-house. It also means that our GPs spend more time on interesting cases and use their expertise.
Main duties of the job
To work 4-7 sessions with option to work 1 session remotely.
13 x 15 mins appointments AM and PM
We operate a triage model. Our care navigators in reception triage the telephone calls and our patient services team triage the online messaging portal. These well trained teams decide which patients need to see a clinician and these patients are booked a face to face appointment. This system means that access is very good and our clinicians can really make a difference with the patients they consult. It also means that our highly skilled salaried doctors are not wasted on telephone triage calls.
Our team of pharmacists do the majority of our prescribing work and medication reviews. We have a GP with a special interest in dermatology and skin surgery. We have a sports medicine doctor who runs a joint injection service and leads the physios who see most of our musculoskeletal cases. We have experienced PAs and a nurse practitioner to see patients with minor ailments and acute mild illness.
About us
Heathbridge Practice is a great group of professionals with a diverse set of skills and talents. We have 12 GPs, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 3 Nurses, 2 Physician Assistants, 3 Pharmacists, 3 Physiotherapists, 1 Social Prescriber, 1 Mental Health Link Worker, 3 HCAs, 1 GP Trainee, 1 Medical Support Worker. We also have a 20 strong team of care navigators and administrators supporting our clinical team. We are a cohesive team working to better the lives of patients in Putney in South West London and we are highly regarded in Wandsworth for high quality patient centred care. We have excellent patient feedback on NHS choices, Google Reviews, Annual GP Survey.
