Job summary

Are you a well organised, enthusiastic and friendly individual who would like to play a key role in the delivery of Secretarial support to the GP Team at Chelford Surgery and David Lewis Medical Practice? We have two sites. One practice is located in the village of Chelford and the second practice is located in the grounds of the David Lewis Centre in rural Cheshire, near Alderley Edge.

We are looking for an additional Secretary with a positive attitude, who strives to provide a high standard of service to patients and team members alike, to work with our existing Secretary as a job share role.

Main duties of the job

This is a part-time role, approximately 18 hours per week, alongside established team members.

Previous experience of working in a GP Surgery and knowledge of EMIS Web would be advantageous but not essential, as we will provide training for the right candidate, who can demonstrate the following key skills:

Strong IT skills with a focus on attention to detail

Confident Communication skills (both face to face and on the telephone)

An ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

An ability to meet deadlines and prioritise your workload

A team focused approach, but an ability to work unsupervised

Understanding of Confidentiality in a Patient Care setting

Duties are varied, but will include liaison between GPs of David Lewis Medical Practice, Chelford Surgery, Home Managers and the Healthcare Team looking after the Residents.

Communication with parents and legal representatives of the residents is also a key part of the role.

Organisation of clinics and general secretarial activities form core parts of the role. However, some specialist administrative projects are involved which provide the opportunity to demonstrate and enhance your existing skills and ability to work proactively to achieve both personal and team goals. A willingness to "go the extra mile" is appreciated in this role.

About us

The David Lewis Medical Practice is situated within the grounds of the David Lewis Centre and operates independently. Primary Care medical services are provided by the Team for 140 residents, with more specialised care being provided by the David Lewis Centre itself.

The medical practice works closely with and is supported by the Team at the nearby Chelford Surgery. Chelford surgery is an established, high achieving GP surgery in an expanding village.

Both Practices are forward thinking in their approach, and share a common goal of commitment to delivering a high standard of patient care both clinically and administratively.

You will be part of a friendly and supportive team both professionally and personally and have the opportunity to develop new and existing skills.

Hard work and dedication is rewarded and a good work-life balance encouraged.
