Aire Valley Surgery is a GP Surgery with two sites in Rawdon and Yeadon in Leeds. There is always a lot going on, and we have a very friendly supportive team.
The Surgery has 14500 patients and growing, approximately 60 staff and is a training practice with Medical students years 1,2 and 3, Registrars, FY2s, etc
This is an opportunity for a Band 5 equivalent Registered Nurse to join our Nursing Team to help offer Primary Care Nursing to our population. Within the Clinical team there are 2x Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 2x Band 6, 2xSenior HCAs and 2x Trainee HCAs who all work accross both sites.
Further training and skills development can be given to the successful candidate, although experience of working in a similar role in a GP practice would be extremely favourable.
Main duties of the job
This position is working somewhere 22.5 - 37.5 hours per week, but these hours will include some 8am starts and some 6pm finishes to enable access for our working patients.

Cervical Cytology (smears)
Baby Immunisations
COVID/Flu Vaccinations
Travel Vaccinations and travel advice
Dressings
Long term condition initial reviews & NHS Health Checks
Assisting with the training/supervision of students and Trainee HCAs

General practice nurses may also have direct supervision of healthcare assistants at the practice.
You must be a qualified and registered adult, child, mental health or learning disability nurse to work in general practice. Youll also either need to undertake further training and education or be willing to after being appointed.
Youll need to be highly organised, flexible and able to prioritise effectively will be vital.You'll also be highly observant, able to assess patients and take responsibility for determining the best course of action.As with all nursing roles, communication skills,problem solving and good judgement are crucial.
