We are a 13,500 patient practice that is looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team.
Our nursing team is made up of 5 nurses, 2 Healthcare Assistants and a Nursing Associate which is lead by a Lead Nurse.
The team is very close and work together very well and we want someone who can fit in and be like part of the family.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a qualified Healthcare Assistant that has preferably worked within a GP practice before. Someone who understands the importance of QOF and other contracts related to GP Practice.
The role will include taking bloods, doing blood pressures, pulses, lifestyle advice and injections.

We are a training practice that provides training for F2's, GP registrars, doctor trainees and trainee nurses, so we like to see people develop in their time here.
We feel that we are a friendly and positive team. We make sure all staff get a tea break where they can go to the staffroom for a cuppa and a biscuit with other members of the team as it is important to us that people have some downtime and also get a chance to talk to their colleagues.

Job responsibilities
- To obtain and collect blood samples as requested by the clinical staff
- To assist with the care of patients physical, personal, psychological and social needs, ensuring that a high standard of patient care is achieved whilst at work and within a safe environment.
- Review of patients care needs including wound assessments on a regular basis
- To carry out new patient health checks including blood pressures
- BPs, ECGs and injections/vaccinations, Cryotherapy, assisting baby clinic with admin, ordering stock.
- Supporting in the management of long-term conditions
- To actively participate in training opportunities as provided to ensure competence is maintained and updated to promote improved patient care and staff development.
- To develop effective relationships with staff, patients and relatives to maintain a high standard of care and to identify ways in which patient care can be improved.
- To assist with the ordering, storage rotation and issue of stocks and supplies, to ensure proper usage and waste avoidance and the policies and procedures contained within the system.
- To participate in the identification and monitoring of patient care needs to provide accurate information for the planning and delivery of care.
- To assist in the monitoring of QOF and any other contract that is in force throughout employment.
- To chaperone medical staff during examination of the patient
- Maintenance of accurate records
- Undertake such other duties that are required commensurate with the role
