JOB DESCRIPTION: Dermatology Nurse
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Dermatology Manager
ROLE:
The Registered Nurse will provide a nursing
service to patients of the Dermatology Service with professional guidance from the
Dermatology medical and nursing teams.
To provide care to patients undergoing
phototherapy treatment, day surgery and attending outpatient clinics in line
with treatment protocols.
KEY
TASKS:
Give appropriate
advice, support and education to the patient and their family/carer.
Responsible for
communicating and involving patients and their families/carers during the planning
and delivery of care to ensure that they understand and agree with the
programme of care.
Provide phototherapy treatments
in a nurse led clinic.
Keep accurate and
timely computerised records and templates.
Participate in the
formulation of Practice Protocols.
Assist in maintaining
adequate supplies and serviceable equipment.
Report untoward
events to the Specialist Nurse or Manager.
Co-operate and
communicate clearly and professionally with all members of the
multidisciplinary team to facilitate effective provision of care and treatment.
Participate in
setting standards, monitoring the quality of the service and identifying how
current practice can be improved.
Initiate and/or
participate in the audit process and professional and managerial projects
as/when required.
To work as part of
the whole Litchdon team.
To be flexible to the
needs of the service.

the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to
gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other
matters. They do so in confidence
and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act
appropriately
- In
the performance of the duties outlined in this Job Description, the
post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to
patients and their carers, Practice staff and other healthcare
workers. They may also have access
to information relating to the Practice as a business organisation.
All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly
confidential
- Information
relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the
business of the Practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in
accordance with the Practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality
and the protection of personal and sensitive data.
General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
All members of staff are bound by the
requirements of the GDPR May 2018 and any breaches of the confidential nature
of the work of this post could lead to dismissal.

guidelines.
- Identifying
