Due to increasing demand and continued growth within our practice, we are pleased to offer an opportunity to expand our administrative and clerical team at Staveleigh Medical Centre. We are seeking a reliable and detail-focused Medical Coder to support the smooth and efficient processing of clinical information within the practice.
In this key role, you will be responsible for processing incoming correspondence in both paper and electronic formats, ensuring that relevant clinical information, measurements, diagnoses, and patient problems are accurately coded and recorded within the medical record. You will also be responsible for carrying out any necessary actions arising from clinical correspondence, such as booking appointments or forwarding information to the appropriate GP for review.
This is an important position within the practice team, helping to ensure that patient records are accurate, up to date, and that clinical workflows are managed efficiently to support high-quality patient care.
Main duties of the job
The Medical Coder will be responsible for supporting the clinical and administrative teams by ensuring patient information is accurately recorded and actioned in a timely manner. This includes reviewing incoming correspondence, identifying key clinical information, and updating patient records appropriately.
You will also help to ensure any required follow-up actions are completed, such as arranging appointments or passing relevant information to the appropriate clinician. The role plays a key part in maintaining accurate patient records and supporting smooth communication across the practice team.
