Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Salaried GP to join a respected surgery serving a diverse patient population, ranging from affluent individuals to those facing deprivation. The practice uses efficient Total Triage systems, ensuring manageable patient contacts and minimal admin tasks. Weekly in-house Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings are held for discussing frail, safeguarding, and complex cases.
The practice is a training environment for Medical Students, FY2s, and ST3 GP Registrars. It is located near Earls Court Underground Station (5-10 min walk from West Brompton). The clinical and non-clinical teams are long-standing, compassionate, and committed to providing excellent patient care in a supportive, collaborative setting.
Role Details:
- 4-5 sessions/week (ideal: Mon AM or PM, Wed, Fri) to start in August 2025
- Well-managed workload with structured Duty Doctor sessions
- Minimal administrative tasks
- Work closely with a large, diverse MDT

Main duties of the job
1) In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, referrals and correspondence in a timely manner.
2) Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the Practice.
3) Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
4) Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
5) In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
6) Providing counselling and health education.
7) Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
8) Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
9) Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
10)Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
11) The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
