Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to join our admin team, working in the largest GP Practice within Oldham. This is a challenging role which requires excellent communication and computer skills. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a GP Practice and should be able to work well as part of a team, contributing to the smooth running of the practice.

Main duties of the job

Job Description

  • To be responsible for the recall of patients for annual reviews of long term/ chronic conditions (QOF) using the Practices current procedures.
  • To be responsible for the administration of other screening recall systems (Bowel, Breast and cytology)
  • To be responsible for the recall of patients for monitoring of other conditions and medications (not included in QOF), including but not limited to:
  • Recall of patients who are prescribed High Risk medications.
  • Recall of patients due for regular investigations such as DEXA Scans, PSA blood tests, X-Rays etc.
  • Recall of patients prescribed medications administered on site e.g. Denosumab and Prostap injections.
  • To be responsible for checking the Accurx text system, on a daily basis and appropriately dealing with texts from patients.
  • To run and work through regular audits as required, (including a monthly audit of Patients who live in a Care Home and are newly prescribed a Controlled Medication).
  • To assist with the creation of searches and reports, as required, to support staff and clinicians with audit work.
  • To undertake any other duties assigned by the Admin Manager and Team Lead.
  • To be responsible for the maintenance of Data Quality.
  • To input patient data received from external sources into the EMIS Web clinical system, including; summarised medical records, hospital letters and hospital results etc.
  • To cover for sickness/ absence within the Data Input and Docman Optimisation Team, when required, to aid business continuity.

Royton & Crompton Family Practice is the largest GP practice within Oldham. We are a friendly team consisting of 44 admin staff and 31 clinical staff all housed in a purpose built health centre. We have recently merged with another local practice and currently have 22,000 patients
