Job summary
We are looking to appoint both part-time and full-time receptionists to join our team.
Our ideal applicant is enthusiastic, hard-working, and must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills. You will possess good organisational skills and be able to multi-task in a very busy environment. Full training will be provided and although experience with primary care systems (in particular Emis Web) is an advantage, this is not compulsory.
The position is full-time hours 37 per week, the practice is open between 07.30am and 7pm the successful candidate will be expected to work between these times (lates included). Hours to be confirmed on appointment.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the UK and be willing to undergo a DBS check.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will need to have an understanding of confidentiality at all times and will be dealing with patients many of whom are unwell, with a variety of challenging conditions by phone, email and face to face. You will need to have the ability to communicate
effectively, verbally and in writing, be able to work under pressure and be resilient.

Royton & Crompton Family Practice is the largest GP practice within Oldham. We are a friendly team consisting of 4 Partners, Clinical staff and Admin staff all housed in a purpose built Health Centre with over 21,500 patients.

To book routine and emergency
appointments for patients, both over the telephone and for patients
presenting to the surgery. The surgery also uses accurx triage system, once the patients have been triaged the receptionist will contact patients with appointment.
To receive patients arriving at the
surgery for appointments with the GP or members of the Primary Health Care
Team.
To answer telephone enquiries and to
record messages from various sources for the information of the GP or
members of the Primary Health Care Team.
To deal with requests from patients for home visits and to prepare
records for GP visiting.
Explain practice arrangements and
formal requirements to new patients and ensure all relevant paperwork is
processed.
Respond to all requests for assistance
from patients and visitors.
Email and photocopying documents.
Open and distribute mail.
To ensure that GP consulting rooms and
reception area are tidy.
Book requests for ambulance transport
on the form provided and document a reminder in the Message Book.
Any other delegated duties considered
appropriate to the post.
