Main duties of the job
Experience of Medical Reception useful especially around Emis docman, accuryx and online consultations. IT competent and experience with prescriptions advantageous
Role will include:
1. Answering the phone and making appointments
2. Liaising with patients front of house
3. Administration tasks around appointment
4. Filing and extracting medical records and any documents relating to medical
records, to include the scanning of letters and automated filing of pathology
5. Use of the practice computing system as necessary, to undertake recall
procedures and any other related duties
6. To be conversant with organisational policies and procedures to ensure an
efficient and effective delivery of service provision

HOURS: 37 hours across 4 days
REPORTS TO: PRACTICE MANAGER
Job summary:
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional
in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the practice team and
project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the
telephone.
Job responsibilities:
Administration
To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures
To work in accordance of written protocols
Pulling/filing notes and updating as necessary
Filing post in medical records
Fax and photocopy as requested
Registrations of new patients computer data entry and medical records
Process patients changes of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge
of practice area)
Reception
Receiving patients, consulting with members of practice team
Cover all reception positions as necessary
Process appointment requests for appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
Deal with visits/requests
Have working knowledge of telephone/bleep system, during and after hours
Clear rooms after surgeries
Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm
Any other tasks allocated by managers
