purpose/summary:
This is a 37.5 hour role 8am to 8pm Mon- Fri, the location will be centrally across Health & Beyond Sites.
The Head of the Pharmacy Team will be an
experienced pharmacist with strong management and leadership skills. They
will bring experience working within general practice in order to improve the
quality and safety of care offered to patients
They will be able to lead a team of
pharmacists, as well as liaising with primary care networks to develop and
run a high-quality service. They will be skilled in audit and quality
improvement as well as being able to manage patient related clinical work.
The Head of the Pharmacy Team will be
responsible for all strands of pharmacy provision across all Health and
Beyond Practices & associated PCN(s) roles and services
i)
develop
and manage medicines optimisation services
ii)
will
provide leadership on quality improvement and clinical audit
management of medicines safety and
sharing best practice amongst the team
Main duties of the job
Job
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate
understanding of the pharmacy role in governance and is able to implement this
appropriately within the workplace.
Demonstrate understanding of, and
contribute to Health and Beyond Pharmacy team.
The ability to improve the quality of
service offered by all teams of Pharmacists at Health and Beyond
Review progress yearly and develop
clear plans to achieve results within priorities set by others.
The ability to motivate self to
achieve goals
The ability to lead multiple teams of
pharmacists within the organisation
Demonstrate understanding of the
implications of national priorities for the team and act upon them.
Understand the relevant standards of
practice and adhere to guidelines at all times
Demonstrate ability to identify and
resolve risk management issues according to policy/protocol
Follow professional and organisational
policies/procedures relating to performance management
Demonstrate ability to extend
boundaries of service delivery within the team(s)
Lead and mentor team(s) / team members
of differing abilities
To reduce the medicines related
workload on doctors
Increase safety and quality of
prescribed medicines
Provide support on medicines related
issues to the whole pharmacy team
To develop quality improvement for medicines
management and prescribing across Health and Beyond sites.
