Assistant Practice Manger/IT Lead
Narberth Surgery is looking for an Assistant Practice Manager to join our team. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and proactive individual to join our friendly, busy practice.
We are a very supportive team who work together to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care and support. No two days are the same and we are looking for a friendly and efficient team player, with good communication skills, patience and enthusiasm, who is looking to progress their career in the non-clinical aspects of General Practice.

The general purpose of the Assistant Practice Manager post, includes, but is not limited to:
Being a part of the practice team providing patient-centered services for our patients, their families and our community.
Being a key part of the practices Administrative Team leading on and developing the administrative tasks and responsibilities undertaken within the team
Working with the Practice Manager and Administrative team in updating, streamlining and developing current processes and practices
Main duties of the job

To manage the administrative functions of the EMIS and IT information systems
To provide IT support to all clinicians and admin staff at Narberth Surgery.
To assist the practice manager providing data/reports
General administrative and reception duties in line with practice need
Maintaining the appointment book & rota
Responsibility for overseeing all aspects of I.T/Computer/Telecom systems
Responsibility for maintaining and updating practice Website, Intranet and Multimedia

About us
We are a stable, sustainable and high performing Practice and have the capacity to fully support the VTS scheme; we have a vast amount of knowledge and skill within the Practice.
Our current level of employed staff comprises six GP Partners, two salaried GP, one Pharmacist, one Practice Manager, Assistant Practice Manager, four Receptionists, five Administrators, four Practice Nurses, and two Health Care Assistants/Phlebotomists.
Attached staff include Health Visitors, District Nurses, Community Midwifes, CPNs and Cluster.
The aim of the Practice is to provide a friendly, caring service to our patients. We make a point of always providing same day appointments for every patient who says that this is necessary.
The Practice is fully computerised and paper light, using the EMIS Web system. This assists us in achieving national and local targets as well as gathering accurate data for audit. Additionally, it has improved our repeat prescribing system and our management of chronic diseases. The appointment system is also completely computerised.
Our Practice is very rural with an area of 150 square miles and we have approximately 9000 patients.
