Job summary

The post holder is an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner who, acting within their professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within general practice. The post holder will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required.

Previous experience in a similar role is an essential. We run a full induction and are keen to access any available training for our employees. We offer 5 weeks’ annual leave and one week study leave (pro rata) and membership of the NHS Pension Scheme. Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

We are a friendly practice looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to the above post.

This is a very busy practice consisting of GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and Health Care Assistants serving a patient population of approx. 11,300 patients as well as hardworking Reception and Admin teams giving support to the Practice operating from two sites – our main site in Shepton Mallet and a branch surgery in Evercreech. We are also part of an active PCN with Pharmacists and First Contact Physios as well as a care co-ordinator.
