Job summary

The successful candidates will be responsible for organising, managing, and prioritising their own workload and ensuring that patient care is paramount.

Main duties of the job

To apply for this position, youwill need to have current NMC Registration and an excellent knowledge of the most up-to-date clinical practices including, but not limited to Phlebotomy, Immunisations, Smears, etc.

We are a dynamic long-established training practice within Tooting in Southwest London, seeking a proactive Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team. You will work in collaboration with our on-site GPs, Practice Nurses and ANPs, HCAs, Phlebotomists, Social Prescribers, FCPs and Paramedics. As part of our Nursing Team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by Practice Nurse Manager and GPs. Responsibilities will be inclusive, but not limited to:

Essential:

Basic wound care/ulcer care

Removal of sutures

New patient medicals

Urinalysis

ECGs

NHS Health Checks

Peak flow readings

Blood pressure measurements

Cervical Smear Test

Routine immunisations Childhood and General Immunisations

Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings

Requesting basic pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs

Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate

Desirable:

Diabetes Checks

Venepuncture

Other roles:

Ordering of stock

Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels

Following a Cold-Chain Protocol

Participation in administrative systems in the Practice

Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required

On occasion there may be a requirements to undertake home visits
