Part-time Practice Nurse – Marazion Surgery

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join the team at Marazion Surgery. The applicant must have at least two years nursing experience and be keen to learn about the management of chronic disease, childhood immunisations, travel vaccinations and cervical screening.

Part time for 30hrs per week, ideally over three days

Salary negotiable depending on experience

Main duties of the job

Job Summary:

The practice nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing General Medical Services to the patients of Practice. He/she will assist medical personnel in the care of practice patients to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education. The practice nurse must be flexible to meet the needs of the Practice. The practice nurse must be flexible to cover annual leave and sick leave of nursing colleagues.

The surgery is located in the picturesque village of Marazion in West Cornwall, famous for its sandy beaches and temperate climate.

Marazion Surgery is an efficient provider of GP services for nearly 7000 patients spread over a relatively large rural area with a disease prevalence rate which is quite average for Cornwall. However, we do have a higher than average elderly population. We dispense medicines for approximately 65% of the patients on our list.
