Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a Salaried General Practitioner to complement our Clinical team. The position will be based at The Village Surgery in Lostock Hall. This is one of six GP practices within the Chorley and South Ribble Primary Care Network.
We welcome applicants from both experienced GP's and from Tier Two GP's.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a part of a multidisciplinary team in a patient-facing role.
The successful candidate will be committed to improving health and putting patients first. Key qualities will be the ability to build effective relationships with patients, colleagues, nurses, and to work effectively as part of a team.
About us
We comprise of 6 surgeries with our own Primary Care Network Status; Buckshaw Village Surgery, Eaves Lane Surgery, Adlington Medical Centre, Croston Medical Centre, The Village Surgery at Lostock Hall and Medicare Unit. Our total patient list size is combined at 23,000 and is growing rapidly.
We currently employ a total of 85 members of staff; we take pride in working together to deliver the best care for our patients.
We were rated Good in all areas at our last CQC inspection. The practice is constantly evolving to take advantage of the opportunities arising in the ever-changing NHS, and to find new and better ways of working.

- Perform face to face consultations for patients
- Provide expertise in the health needs of patients in GP practice.
- Provide leadership on quality improvement whilst contributing to the quality and outcomes framework and enhanced services.
- Record recommendations and outcomes on GP computer clinical systems and own clinical notes in accordance with practice procedures.
- Attend regular clinical supervision sessions to promote a culture of continuous professional development and shared learning.
Supportive Clinical Duties
- As part of the multi-disciplinary team, attend relevant MDT Network meetings, providing information and feedback.
- Report incidents, contribute to investigations and root cause analyses as well as participating in serious incident investigations and multidisciplinary case reviews.
- Critically appraise clinical evidence and present information to colleagues in prescribing meetings and educational events, as required.
- Perform audits and direct/supervise the audit activity of others
