Job summary
The purpose of this role is to
provide safe and efficient care for patients attending GRHC for outpatient and
surgical intervention. To help provide a safe clinical and working environment
for all staff and patient activity.
To participate as an integral
member of the theatre surgical team enabling Vida Healthcare to provide
efficient and cost-effective surgical services.
Main duties of the job
Be able to scrub and circulate for operating
lists, our main specialties at Vida are cataracts and dermatology.
To assist
with a YAG Laser list.
Managing admission before, and recovery and
discharge of patients following their procedure according to unit protocols.
Assist with outpatient clinics.
Aid clinicians, surgeons, and other theatre
staff to give quality care.
Use effective communication within the team.
To follow local policies and procedures.
Ensure proficiency with all equipment before
use.
Reporting any equipment/ instrument faults to
the Lead Practitioner.
Keep up to date with advances in techniques
and equipment used in the surgical unit.
Ensure stock is used cost effectively, rotated
in date order and checked regularly.
About us
Vida Healthcare is a multi-site part-dispensing,
high achieving GP partnership looking after approx. 37,000 patients across 6
sites in 4 locations in West Norfolk. Apart from our PMS contract, we are involved
in teaching medical students & registrars, research active, primary care
surgery including community cataract services, YAG laser & skin cancer
surgery and LARC clinics, we are looking for an experienced, motivated Theatre
Practitioner to join our Theatre team on a permanent basis.
We have a dedicated,
multidisciplinary team made up of Doctors, Nurses, HCAs and Dispensary as well
as our focussed and motivated administrative teams.

Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to GCSE level, with English and Maths.
- Previous computer training and experience
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Excellent organizational, time management, communication skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with highly confidential information.
- RGN or ODP Qualification
Experience
Desirable
- Previous experience using SystmOne
- Previous experience and knowledge within Cataract surgery
- Entry level knowledge of Microsoft products.
- Previous experience of working within the NHS
- Be flexible and can work under pressure.
- Understanding the purpose or surveys and audits
- Knowledge of GDPR processes
