Treatment Room Nurse

Job summary

The post holder is responsible for the delivery of basic treatment room/ practice nursing services care to the practice population. Supported by senior nurses within the practice, they will deliver care within the boundaries of their role, focusing upon supporting patients to be healthy, monitoring of long-term conditions, health prevention and screening activities. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required.

  • Current and valid NMC
  • RGN Qualification
  • All relevant qualifications and competencies must be supplied at onboarding stage for personnel filing

Desirable

  • Accredited training in chronic disease management
  • Accredited training in anticoagulation management
  • Cervical cytology qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working within a General Practice
  • Experience of dealing with vulnerable patients
  • Experience with long-term illnesses
  • Health promotion
  • Implementation and utilising protocols and guidelines
  • Clinical supervision

Desirable

  • Up-to-date training in childhood immunisations
  • 2 years post-registration
  • Family planning
  • Smoking cessation
  • Evidence of recent updating in primary care
  • Working with SystmOne
  • 1 year experience in primary/community care
