Job summary
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception/admin duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team.
Carry out routine administrative duties pertinent to the service. Accurate filing and scanning of letters and reports in electronic and paper patient records.
Working as part of the admin team and will be required to deal with incoming and outgoing post, requesting and returning medical records
Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required.
To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers
Main duties of the job
Accurate filing and scanning of letters and reports in electronic and paper patient records
Photocopying
Managing personal and practice inboxes and maintain requests from clinical staff and outside agencies.
Typing of correspondence from written or audio material
Updating spreadsheets
Read coding of medical documents
Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
Direct requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team
Dealing with incoming and outgoing post
Requesting and returning medical records
Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
Process personal, telephone and online requests for appointments
Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
Signposting patients to the correct service
Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested

Cambridge Avenue Medical Centre has a dedicated team of 5 Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 1 Nurse Prescriber, and a well established clinical and admin team.
We are a training practice for GP Registrars and medical students from Hull & York Medical School.
