Job summary

Butetown Medical Practice is a busy GP Practice in Cardiff dedicated to delivering excellent healthcare to our 10,000-practice population. We are looking for an enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our friendly and forward-thinking team on a part time basis 16-20 hrs a week.

You will be working alongside our clinical and nursing team, providing an essential support function and delivering the best care to all our patients. The successful candidate should be confident and able to work under pressure and should be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Main duties of the job

The main duties are:

Phlebotomy

Supporting the practice nurse and GPs with the management of chronic disease clinics.

Undertaking ECGs

Health Care Checks (measuring and recording height, weight, BP & lifestyle etc)

Immunisations and to assist in NHS seasonal health campaigns, such as, seasonal flu vaccinations. And following training, the administration of B12 / Pneumonia and shingles injections

Wound care and dressings

Chaperone duty when required.

Stock ordering and management.

Ensure fridges are cleaned and stocked routinely

Butetown medical Practice is a friendly practice based in the heart of Butetown. We have a lovely team of 24 people, consisting of Administration, Doctors,Paramedics and HCAP.

We have a busy, large practice with an increasing practice population.
