Job summary

We are looking for a qualified GP to work on a Locum basis, to provide us with flexible, sessional clinical support for an estimated period of three months, covering planned gaps in staffing.

You will be experienced in delivering high quality patient care, managing acute and routine presentations, and be able to support the practice clinical team as needed.

You will be experienced in working independently, adapting quickly to different systems, situations and environments, ensuring continuity of care for patients.

This role is estimated to be required for a minimum of three months. There is the possibility following this for to be a further extension, or to become employed on a permanent basis as a part of our Salaried GP team.

It is estimated that you will be required for six sessions per week, but this is negotiable.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing high quality clinical care during routine and urgent patient appointments.
  • Assessment, diagnosis, and management a wide range of primary care presentations.
  • Working independently while also integrating smoothly with the existing practice team.
  • Completion of essential clinical documentation, clearly and promptly.
  • Supporting on the day demand, such as urgent appointments or home visits.
  • Using the practice clinical systems effectively (SystmOne).
  • Ensuring patient safety by following appropriate protocols, safeguarding policies, and GMC standards.
  • Contributing to effective workload management, adapting to the practices processes and timeframes.
  • Communicating professionally with patients, colleagues, and wider multidisciplinary teams.

As a dispensing practice, we provide convenient, integrated care for our rural and semirural patients, supported by an experienced inhouse dispensary team.
