Job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated GP to join our forward thinking and friendly team. Our ethos is to focus on patient centred care, whilst ensuring our work is sustainable by looking after the health and wellbeing of ourselves and our staff.

We would happily consider applications from persons looking for full or part time roles and sessions and CPD would be agreed accordingly.

Main duties of the job

  • You will undertake a variety of duties including telephone, web, in-person consultations and home visits.
  • Checking and signing prescriptions, dealing with queries, results, reports and examinations (e.g. Insurance Companies) on behalf of the Practice, referral letters, paperwork and other correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
  • Recording clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • In accordance with a job plan, as agreed, you will make yourself available to undertake a variety of duties including consultations, triaging, visiting patients at home, checking and signing prescriptions and dealing with queries, patient test results, patient medical reports and examinations , referral letters NHS/private, paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation;
  • responsible for own admin, paperwork, clinical letters, diagnostics etc.
  • Recording clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation notes to agreed standards;
  • Practice in-line with QOF standards to fulfil contractual obligations of Practice.
  • Collecting data for audit purposes;
  • Extended hours work as agreed by the partnership.
  • Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible);
  • Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or national guidelines.
  • In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
