Job summary
We need a GP with a "can do" attitude to join our AWARD-WINNING Training Practice.
We are looking for an enthusaistic clinician for 5 sessions per week (Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday - ideally) for an 6 month minimum period. Must be available to start June (or before).
Our list size is 8,800 and we have a friendly and supportive team which includes:
8 GPs ; Practice Nurses; Community Matron; GP Assistant; Nurse Practitioner; Health Care Workers; Pharmacists; Practice Manager and Deputy; Patient Support Team and Administration Services.
We offer competative sessional rates
GPs hold a patient list to facilitate continuity of care.
There would be a named GP mentor for the period of this contract.
Main duties of the job
Able to provide General Practice Primary Care Services within the current PMS contract.
We need a dedicated and caring team player who holds the following:
MRCGP; Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP;
General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT); Full GMC Registration; National Performers List registration; Eligibility to practice in the UK independently.
Experience of working in a primary care environment along with an outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills is essential. Newly qualified GPs are welcomed.

Job responsibilities
Main purpose of the role: The Post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of
health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care
for all patients.
Clinical responsibilities:
In accordance with the practice timetable, as
agreed, the post-holder will make him/her/them-self available to undertake a variety
of duties including surgery consultations and emergencies, telephone
consultations and queries, triaging, visiting patients at home, dealing with queries,
patient test results, referral letters, paperwork and correspondence in a
timely manner;
Making professional, autonomous decisions in
relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other
health care workers within the organisation;
Recording clear and contemporaneous I.T. based consultation
notes to agreed standards;
Collecting data for audit purposes;
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute prescriptions
(avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible);
Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed or
national guidelines.
In general the post-holder will be expected to
undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP
working within primary care.
Other responsibilities with the Practice:
Teaching and training of doctors and nurses;
Awareness of and compliance with all relevant
practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data
protection, health and safety, annual QOF Assessment of the Practice.
A commitment to life-long learning and audit to
ensure evidence-based best practice;
Keep a portfolio;
Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical
standard setting within the organisation;
Contributing to the development of computer-based
patient records;
Attending training, Practice Meetings and events
organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
Meet all tight timescales/deadlines for audits and
written returns to ensure that the Practice meets quality standards and
receives the designated funding (e.g. Quarterly Enhanced Services returns,
annual QOF audit etc.)

their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to
expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately;

reviews
