We have 16 GPs, 4 ANPs, 7 PNs, 6-8 GP Trainees, 3 HCAs and a large, highly performing management team. There are specialisms in GP Training, Diabetes and metabolic medicine, COPD/Asthma, palliative care and womens health.
The pharmacy team comprises of 2.5WTE pharmacists, 2WTE pharmacy techs and 3WTE medicine coordinators.
Riverside Health Partnership seeks a part-time/full-time, motivated committed prescribing pharmacist to work with our excellent team of pharmacists, pharmacy techs and medicine coordinators.

Main duties of the job
There is a focus to develop the team and our medicines management services further with more patient facing clinics and pharmacist-led management of chronic disease, medicines optimisation and managing polypharmacy and appropriate pragmatic prescribing in the elderly amongst other initiatives. Guidance and support for the pharmacy and medicines management team to deal with prescriptions/medicine/prescribing queries is core. The role has a high degree of autonomy.
To work with the GP prescribing lead in the practice and support
with achieving efficient and effective prescribing activities.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a
patient-facing role, to provide primary support to general practice staff with
regards to prescription and medication queries. Ensuring that the practice
integrates with community and hospital pharmacy to help utilise skill mix,
improve patient outcomes.

- Masters degree in pharmacy or equivalent
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Qualified prescriber
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a pharmacist, in acute hospital.
- Postgraduate clinical qualification and/or significant relevant clinical experience to demonstrate similar level of knowledge
- Experience of working with the public.
- Experience of being responsible and accountable for own professional actions, working independently within professional and organisational boundaries and being responsible for the actions of others within their area of responsibility
Desirable
- Completed Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) Clinical Pharmacist 18-month training pathway.
- Experience of working within primary care
