Job summary

Due to retirement we have a vacancy for a highly motivated, well organised and enthusiastic Practice Manger to join our fantastic team at The Dicconson Group Practice.

Main duties of the job

The Practice Manager is responsible for HR,Financial management,Premises and Equipment, Information technology and IG, Practice Operation and Development, H&S, Patient comms and the development, oversight of services and the delivery of a variety of NHS contracts.

The interviews will be held on Wednesday the 7th of August.

About us

The Dicconson Group Practice is a four partner practice,with two advanced nurse practioners, three salaried GP's. A nursing team consisting of three practice nurses, a nurse associate and a GP assistant.

The reception team are friendly, hardworking and offer full support to the clinical staff.

Job Summary

Due to retirement, we have a vacancy for a highly motivated, well organised and

enthusiastic Practice Manager to join our fantastic team at the The Dicconson Group

Practice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively managing the practice and

performance of the team. The person will need to possess excellent leadership,

communication and interpersonal skills, work under pressure and to deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities

The practice manager is responsible for HR, Financial management, Premises &

Equipment, Information technology and IG, Practice Operation and Development, H&S,

Patient comms and the development / oversight of services and the delivery of a variety of

NHS contracts.

The following are the core responsibilities of the practice manager. This list is not

exhaustive and due to the nature of Primary care, they may be a requirement to carry out

other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels

Managing the financial elements of the practice.

Maintaining an effective liaison with the accountant, overseeing practice accounts,

ensuring year-end figures are presented.

Working with finance partner re monthly drawings and producing financial forecast

Overseeing, PAYE and pensions for practice staff

Overseeing the procurement of GP practice equipment, supplies and services

within target budgets.

Responsible for ensuring all claims are submitted/ verified as deadlines require

Supporting PCN finance arrangements

Reviewing and analysing current practices and working with the practice teams and

patients to improve processes / procedures.

Overview of the management of the premises, liaising with building management

company including health and safety aspects such as risk assessments and

mandatory training.

Supporting the management of the Patient Participation Group.

Supporting the management of all complaints including any learning is identified

and disseminated.

Evaluating all changes to the practices regulatory and contractual arrangements

and providing summary information and recommendations to the Partners.

Leading and managing any collaborative working

Overseeing clinical and administrative activity that supports achievement of all contractual targets - QOF, IIF and Enhanced service, PCN contracts, modern day general practice spec. Ensuring compliance with CQC regulations. Developing business plans; leading on business expansion and project management and any other functions deemed necessary by the Partnership to aid business growth. Developing, implementing, and embedding an efficient business resilience plan. Coordinating the reviewing and updating of all practice policies and procedure Leading change and continuous improvement initiatives; coordinating all projects within the practice Monitoring and evaluating practice performance against targets Deputise for the partners at internal and external meetings. Act as the primary point of contact for NHS(E), ICB, PCSE, community services, suppliers and all other external stakeholders. Managing/ overseeing the recruitment and retention of staff; develop, implement, and embed an effective succession plan. Developing, overseeing, implementing, and embedding an effective staff appraisal process. Work with the management team and HR company to Implement effective systems for the resolution of disciplinary and grievance issues. Maintaining an effective overview of HR legislation Ensuring all staff have the appropriate level of training to enable them to carry out their individual roles and responsibilities effectively. Ensuring Health and wellbeing of the team Mentor and develop the deputy practice manager and administration manager To ensure the practices always adheres to high information security. Ensure that there is an up-to-date IG policy in place. Ensure that the organisations approach to information handling is communicated to all staff and made available to the public Liaise with practice external health and safety advisor and building management team to ensure advice and compliance following annual risk assessment conducted by them Evaluate and plan practice IT implementation and modernisation Keep abreast of the latest development in primary care IT and regularly update the practice management team Convene meetings, prepare agendas and ensure distribution of minutes as necessary.
