Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 3rd Salaried GP to join our expanding practice team. This is a full-time post but we are willing to offer two part time positions for the right candidates.

We are a busy, well established 5 partner GMS training practice operating from a purpose built and multi-functional site and are committed to providing high quality care to our 9,000 patients.

We are actively involved in PCN collaborative working and are looking for an innovative and motivated Clinician to help us meet the challenges and opportunities which lay ahead.

About us

Our clinical practice team consists of GPs, ANP, AP, Practice Nurses, HCA, TNA and Clinical pharmacist. 

The team is fully supported by our friendly and experienced administration staff which allows us to deliver a full range of services to our Patient population.

Job responsibilities

Job Summary

The salaried GP will be responsible for delivering the full range of primary care services as part of the Practice ensuring the highest standards of care for the differing needs of our patient population.

The salaried GP will work closely with the practice’s multi-disciplinary team of other GPs, nurses and non clinical staff to provide a high quality and accessible service to patients

Key responsibilities

Clinical practice

• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for patients presenting with an undifferentiated diagnosis

• Clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective, and plan clinical care accordingly

• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate interventions/treatments for patients with complex needs. Proactively identify, diagnose and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition (as appropriate)

• Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic conditions, integrating both drug- and non-drug-based treatment methods into a management plan

• Work with patients in order to support compliance with and adherence to prescribed treatments. Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication regimens, side-effects and interactions

• Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care

• Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles, and apply principles of self-care

• Undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries,

• Visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries,

• Completion of paperwork, referrals, and correspondence in a timely manner.

• Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.

• Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.

• Collecting and presenting data for audit or educational purposes.

• Utilise and demonstrate sensitive communication styles, to ensure patients are fully informed and consent to treatment
