team, working as part of the Practice Nurse
Team.
You will support the assessment of patient care needs and provide continuing care for patients, working within the professional boundaries
Main duties of the job

working as part of the Practice Nurse Team.
The NA
will be involved primarily in:
l Provision of a phlebotomy service
l The management of laboratory samples for the Practice
l Undertaking well person checks
l Height,
weight & BMI checks.
l Urinalysis
l ECG recording
l Blood
pressure checks.
l Record
clinical observations Pulse, respirations, oxygen saturations
l Measure
& interpret blood glucose levels.
l Diabetic foot checks
l Lifestyle advice
l Effectively
share information and check understanding about long term conditions
develop skill to undertake long term condition reviews
l Dressings including compression and leg ulcer management
l Suture / staple & clip removal
l Provide sexual health / contraception advice
l Undertake cervical smears
l Administer vaccinations under a PSD
l Chaperoning Patients
l Cleaning and sterilising instruments and equipment
l
Maintenance of
equipment, including keeping records of when
external checks are due, e.g., calibration
l The daily recording of refrigerator temperatures
l Daily / Monthly Emergency and Kit checks
l Ordering of stock and re-stocking clinical rooms
About us
Guiseley
and Yeadon Medical Practice delivers care out of Yeadon Health Centre, Yeadon
and Netherfield Road Surgery, Guiseley.
It
serves a population of 11500 patients and has a multidisciplinary team
comprising GPs, Advanced nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and the nursing
team. They are supported by a team of receptionists and admin assistants.

Job responsibilities
l
To always act in
such a manner as to support Patients and be mindful of the
need to reduce anxiety for patients
l To provide, a phlebotomy (blood sampling) service
for patients
l
Be responsible for processing and management of laboratory samples
requested by clinicians with specific responsibility to ensure that the
samples are correctly labelled, sent to the laboratory promptly and that data is entered onto the Patient's notes
l Undertaking
well person checks including Height, weight & BMI
checks.
l Undertake Urinalysis, record results and
send samples to the lab when required
l ECG recording
l Blood pressure checks.
l Record clinical
observations Pulse, respirations, oxygen saturations
l Measure & interpret
blood glucose levels.
l Undertake Diabetic foot checks
l Provide Lifestyle advice
l Effectively share
information and check understanding about long term conditions develop skill
to undertake long term condition reviews
l Undertake Dressings including compression and
leg ulcer management
l Undertake suture / staple & clip
removal
l Provide sexual health / contraception
advice
l Undertake cervical smears on completion of
appropriate training
l Administer vaccinations under a PSD
following appropriate training

Maintenance of equipment, including keeping records of when external

l Be responsible for the daily / monthly Emergency
drug and kit checks

maintenance and cleaning
of equipment

Be responsible for restocking of all clinical
areas and maintaining a stock rotation system

To maintain an adequate number of clinical
supplies and health
promotion materials as agreed with the clinical team
l To obtain, process
and/or use information in line with the GDPR requirements
l Ensure that drug/vaccine refrigerators are at the correct temperature daily and maintain
the Vaccine Cold Chain documented record according to Practice Guidelines

To maintain health
information notice board
in line with
national/local health promotion campaigns
l To attend relevant meetings as required
l To immediately
report any safeguarding or compliance concerns

- Registered with NMC
