Job summary
The Aberfeldy Practice is a highly reputable practice based in Poplar, Tower Hamlets. We are looking to employ an experienced Practice Nurse with at least 2 years of experience in General Practice. This is a permanent position and is available on a part-time basis (3-4 days a week, 25 - 30 hours approx).
Informal visits are welcome. Please contact the Practice Manager to organise a visit or a conversation over the phone.
Main duties of the job
- General routine checks
- Cervical Screening
- Routine childhood and adult vaccination
- Long-term conditions checks including diabetes, hypertension, COPD, Asthma etc.
- Wound management / Dressing
- Phlebotomy
- Travel Health
- General contraception and sexual health

The Aberfeldy Practice has been serving the community for over 20 years, currently providing care to more than 13,000 patients. Our diverse clinical team includes 12 General Practitioners, 3 Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant, 1 Phlebotomist, and a range of allied healthcare professionals such as a Pharmacist, Physician Associate, and First Contact Physiotherapist. We operate from a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility located in the heart of Tower Hamlets. We are a high QOF achieving practice and with a good CQC rating. Job responsibilities
- Assist the current nursing team with annual health checks such as diabetes, hypertension, NHS health checks, ECGs
- carry out a full range of tasks appropriate to the grade of the Nursing post
- Where requested, assist GPs in the provision of clinical services
-together with nursing colleagues, ensure that there are a range of disease management clinics appropriate to the current needs of the patient population and the requirements of the practice
- Participate in practice meeting
- be committed to participation in training and education (inc clinical supervision)
- participate in practice procedures for performance review and appraisal
- ensure that all duties are undertaken with due regard for patient confidentiality
