Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Peterloo Medical Centre in Middleton.

We are offering 24 hours per week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday).

We are looking for candidates with some experience in a General Practice setting.

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate they can work as part of a team, and will assist the practices clinical team in the provision and delivery of patient care.

Main duties of the job

  • Phlebotomy
  • NHS Health Checks
  • Blood Pressure / Hypertension Checks
  • Weight Management
  • ECGs
  • Flu, B12, Shingles and Pneumococcal Vaccinations (under a PSD)
  • Height, Weight measurements
  • CRP Testing
  • Chaperoning Duties
  • Emergency drug and equipment checks
  • Assisting the Practice Nurse with Infection Control
  • Ordering Stock

Peterloo Medical Centre is a busy practice in the heart of Middleton. We are a happy and friendly team that works together to provide person centered healthcare.

We are a five GP Partner practice, with two salaried GPs, two Practice Nurses, a Nurse Associate, and full admin and reception team.

Processing of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses

Vaccine / Cold chain monitoring and recording

Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and wellbeing

Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of Long Term Conditions

Helping to raise awareness of health and wellbeing and how it can be promoted

  • Functional Skills - English and Mathematics, Level 3 HCSW
