Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Part-Time Practice Nurse to join our nursing team at our busy, forward thinking GP Surgeries in Northallerton and Hutton Rudby.

This position is for part-time hours, to be discussed at interview occasional Saturday morning work may be required.

You will be supported by a team of excellent HCAs; in house pharmacy team and good liaison with our GPs and community nursing teams.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified registered Nurse ideally with experience in primary care.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of the nursing team providing wound dressings, compression bandaging, doppler studies, vaccines and childhood immunisations to the practice population ensuring that the highest standard of care is afforded to patients at all times both at Mowbray House Surgery and Hutton Rudby Surgery.

Mowbray House Surgery is a large, progressive Medical Practice based in Northallerton with a full time Branch Surgery in Hutton Rudby.

The candidate would join a dedicated nursing team of 11.

Job responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide a range of nursing services, including venepuncture, ECG measurement, blood pressure measurement, urinalysis, injections, swabs, health checks, suture removal, wound care

* Assist clinician team with minor surgery and coil fittings.

* Chaperone and assist patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician.

* Monitor QOF targets as required and maintain a high standard of achievement.

* Participate in any relevant health promotion and screening activities to promote the health and wellbeing of patients.

* Provide nursing input to any decision making processes affecting the care of the patients.

* Maintain the treatment room: this includes ensuring that the room is tidy and clean at all times, that stock levels are maintained and items are rotated as necessary and maintain and clean any equipment used by the nurses.

* Maintain accurate records.

* Monitor the temperature of the treatment room fridge, ensuring the protocol is followed.
