Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Assistant to work in both our Dover & Shepherdswell branches. The practice is currently looking for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic HCA to join our friendly and professional clinical team. We are looking for someone who will share our commitment to providing excellent healthcare to our patients. Part-time and Full-time hours considered.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will have a range of skills including:

Phlebotomy

Injections including B12, adult seasonal flu vaccines using a PSD

Perform dressing changes

Blood pressure monitoring including 24hr ambulatory monitoring

ECG including 24hr ambulatory monitoring

NHS Health Checks and Well Person checks

Re-stocking and maintaining stocks

Ear irrigation

Removal of sutures and clips

Any other delegated duties considered to the post

About us

White Cliffs Medical Centre is based in a purpose built building just a short distance from Dover town centre and consists of two partners, four nurses and a two HCAs.

We also have a branch surgery in Shepherdswell.

We are a busy practice with a hardworking, dedicated and supportive team of reception/admin/dispensary staff, as well as our clinical team. We work closely with our Primary Care Network to deliver high standards of care to our patient population of around 9,600.

Desirable

  • Phlebotomy certification
  • Ear syringing certification

Experience

  • Experience of working with the general public
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting

  • Experience of working in a primary care environment

Clinical Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Wound Care / Removal of sutures & staples
  • Venepuncture
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong IT skills
  • Clear, polite telephone manner
