Job summary

Central Medical Centre is a well established General Practice based in Morden Surrey providing care to over 9700 patients in the local community.

The practice is situated close to Morden town center which boasts good public transport links including the London Underground Northern Line and various bus routes as well as being near St Helier and Morden South mainline railway stations.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic Salaried Doctor to come and join our multidisciplinary practice team to deliver high quality care to our registered practice population.

This is a fixed term position until 31st March 2025 and is for 2 sessions per week on Monday & Friday afternoons/evenings.

The successful applicant will have completed their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) within the last 2 years (on or after October 2022).

The successful candidate will be required to work on site at the practice consulting with patients both over the phone and in person face-to-face. They will be required to undertake visits to patients in their own homes as required and as part on ongoing routine care to those who are housebound.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a share of other clinical administrative work (including but not limited to prescriptions, referrals, incoming patient correspondence etc).

About us

The practice is based over 3 floors and the ground floor is DDA accessible. The surgery has a team of 35 staff and is part of Morden PCN. The practice has good links with other local practices and healthcare providers.

Job description

Job responsibilities

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the contract.

Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks.

a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

b. The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract

c.Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

d.Effective management of long-term conditions

e.Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

f. Undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles

g.Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

h.Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

i.Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

j.Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

k.Accept delegated responsibility for a specific clinical area (or areas) or the QOF

l.Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

m.Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training

n.Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

o.Prepare and complete the revalidation process

p.Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team

q.Support the training of registrars and medical students from all clinical disciplines
