Job summary
Platt House Surgery are looking for a GP Receptionist with a
friendly, helpful, and approachable manner for our busy growing practice.
You will join an established reception team who, whilst busy,
are all very friendly, helpful, and committed to offering the best service
possible to our patients and colleagues.
The hours are 24 per week, worked over 4 days.
Main duties of the job
Greeting and booking in patients.
Making appointments by processing appointment requests using
the practice system.
Process and request repeat prescriptions.
Respond efficiently and effectively to emailed, telephone,
written enquiries, and personal callers to the practice.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail.
Take and convey messages to the doctors and other health
care/admin staff as appropriate according to procedure.
This is a demanding role which requires a capable individual
who can work under pressure.
As part of this role, you will be required to work between the
hours of 8:00 am and 6.30 pm. If you cannot work between these times,
unfortunately you will not be considered for the role.
About us
This is a small GP practice with a growing patient list size
of over 4000.
We have 1 male and 1 female GP, 1 Advanced Nurse prescriber, 1 Practice Nurse, a Healthcare Assistant, a GP Assistant, a Clinical Pharmacist,
FCP Physios, a Care coordinator, 3 reception/admin staff, Practice Secretary and
Practice Manager.
We all work together, and everyone's role is as important as the others.

reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary
team.Duties can include, but are not limited to, greeting, and
directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking
appointments, the processing of information and assisting patients as required.
To act as the central point of contact for
patients, the distribution of information, messages, and enquiries for the
clinical team, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members and external
agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

and permit us to collect and retain sensitive information relating to their
health and other matters pertaining to their care. They do so in confidence and
