We are looking to recruit a Physicians Associate to join our expanding Neighbourhood team working within our Pendle East Hub, and across our five GP practices.
You will be required to participate in all aspects of patient care using the knowledge gained from your Physicians Associate training working with our experienced PCN clinicians and supervised by GP colleagues.
You will work in a beautiful area on the Lancashire / Yorkshire border with a dedicated, care-focussed and forward-thinking team who are excited about developing new ways of working together.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to:-
- deliver a high standard of patient care using advanced autonomous clinical skills with in-depth theoretical knowledge and evidence-based practice working under the supervision of a GP
- manage a clinical caseload and deal with presenting patients needs in a primary care setting
- provide clinical leadership where appropriate within the practice and support other members of the team to develop and maintain clinical skills appropriate to your role and expertise.
- Work flexibly when required. Some evening and weekend working may be required as services develop.

Our Pendle East Neighbourhood team is based in Colne Health Centre, where clinical and non-clinical staff members from a variety of organisations work together to provide the best patient care for the residents of our area.
You will also work very closely with our five local GP practices, and exciting new models of working are rapidly evolving.
You would be a part of these developments, thinking about new ways of working in an integrated way, but in a highly supportive environment.

Essential
- Applications are welcome from qualified Physician Associates ideally with experience of working in a GP practice. Exceptional candidates who are newly qualified will also be considered for this role. You will have completed the Physician Associate Postgraduate Diploma/Masters from an accredited UK university and passed the Physician Associate National Examination.
- You must also be able to demonstrate
- - patient assessment skills
- - an in depth knowledge of related medical conditions, treatments and pharmacology
- - Experience of supporting doctors in clinical decision making
- - Ability to work autonomously within the scope of supervised practice
- - Detailed knowledge of maintaining confidentiality and implementing data protection legislation requirements including information governance
- - Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively
- - Ability to exercise sound judgement when faced with conflicting pressures
- - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- - IT literate
