Job summary
The successful applicant would be expected to provide nursing services to the practice population with evidence-based, quality-focused care. To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. To ensure clear channels of communication exist between clinical, administrative, and community teams. to project a positive and friendly image of our patients and other professionals.
You will play a vital role in providing exceptional nursing care to our patients, your responsibilities will include conducting patient assessments, administering treatments and vaccinations, managing chronic conditions and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients
The days of work would be all day Monday and Thursday this is NON negotiable
Main duties of the job
To provide assessment, treatment, screening and health educations services and advice, working in accordance with set protocols, guidelines and NMC Code of Conduct.
Provide nursing services/treatments to patients independently or in participation with general practitioners with reference to aforesaid agreed protocols and guidelines
Have the ability to work on own initiative , acknowledge limitations of oneself and in the delegation to others. Recognising when referral to other health professional is required.
To be familiar with changes and progress in nursing care
Evaluating and adapting care using evidence-based practice in consultation with colleagues as a forum for team education, development and audit.
To include but not limited to
Wound management
Measuring blood pressure & venepuncture
Routine injections as prescribed
Cervical Smears
childhood and adult immunisations
well person health checks
Ear syringing and assessment of ears
Spirometry
Weight management
Family planning/ assisting in coil fittings and implants
Chronic disease management
CVD risk assessments and Q risk interpretations
Referrals to podiatry, counselling, audiology etc
Ensuring all specimens are checked and set to the lab as required
To become fully conversant with QoF, coding
To be responsible for the efficient running of the treatment room and equipment and to ensure clinical areas are at all times safe for staff and patients
Participate in the education of students of all disciplines
Be aware of local Policies & Protocols
