Job summary
Abington Park Surgery are looking to recruit an experienced Practice Nurse who is enthusiastic and conscientious to join our existing team.
This part time position will be over THREE days and equate to approximately 22-24 hours per week.
General treatment room skills would be ideal including wound care, phlebotomy, injections, swabs, health promotion advice. We are searching for a team player who is motivated to commit to further training to meet our patient healthcare needs.
Childhood immunisations would be desirable but training can be given to the right person.
The successful candidate would be given the opportunity to train in diabetes care and / or COPD.
Main duties of the job
The role will include providing assessment, screening and treatment services in line with the practice protocols.
The successful candidate will be a qualified nurse, preferably with 18 months experience of working in Primary care.
We have a strong nursing team and now need to add to that team to ensure we have a strong skill base to support the needs of our patients.

Abington Park Surgery is a practice with almost 13,000 patients and we are based very close to Abington Park, so great for lunch time walks. We have a large free car park with a Pharmacy, Dentist and Optician based on our site.
We are a very strong team of doctors, nurses, administration and receptionists who all pull together to ensure that the needs of our patients are met.

- Chronic Disease Qualifications in Family Planning, Diabetes or COPD
- Cervical cytology, Injections, High vaginal swabs, Compression bandaging, Wound care, Phlebotomy and ECG.
- Provide the full range of nursing services, including measurement, blood pressure measurement, urinalysis, health checks, suture removal, etc.
- Training in any missing skills will be discussed if successfully.

- Diploma level achievement in Diabetes or COPD
- Cytology Qualification
- Experience in COPD and/or Diabetes
- Ear syringing
- Doppler
- Chronic disease annual health check / NHS health check
