Job summary
We are looking to recruit an experienced manager into our growing practice to support the practice manager
in all aspects of practice functionality, including motivating and managing staff,
optimising efficiency and overall performance ensuring the practice achieves its
long-term strategic objectives in a safe and effective working environment.
The Assistant Practice Manager will focus on
the day-to-day operability of the practice, HR, GDPR and Learning and
Development whilst promoting a positive working environment.
The successful candidate should
have experience in a management role and experience within HR ideally having worked in aGP practice.
Main duties of the job
The Assistant practice manager is responsible for:
Supporting the practice manager
in the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their
primary responsibilities and patients are supported in their care.
To lead Human Resources ensuring
motivation and productivity of staff working in the practice is
maintained; policy and procedures are implemented, and staff reviews are
in line with legislation.
Monitoring and maintain
compliance for health and safety and GDPR legislation.
Line managing staff where
appropriate and ensure team members are supported by a good appraisal system
and robust HR system.
Developing, implementing and
embedding an effective practice training programme for all staff (clinical and
administrative) liaising with external agencies when necessary and maintaining
a training record.

About us
Bedford Street Surgery is
a two site practice located in Bletchley, Milton Keynes with a branch site in
Furzton, Milton Keynes. We currently have over 16400 patients across both
sites and a supportive and care focused team.
We have a well established
clinical MDT team consisting of paramedics, prescribing nurse practitioners,
respiratory nurse, diabetes nurse, health care assistants, practice nurses, a pharmacist and gps who are
supported by our management and admin team of secretaries, care navigators and care coordinators.Bedford Street Surgery is
part of the South West Network where we are able to work together to provide
our patients with additional services and care enhancing the practice with first contact practitioners, Integrated Support mental health services, dietician, social prescriber and health and wellbeing coaches.
We offer monthly mdt meetings, safeguarding meetings and shared care meeting to support patients and staff alike.

requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as
workload and staffing levels.
The Assistant practice manager is responsible
for:
- Supporting

QOF, enhanced services and other reporting requirements using CQRS or other
such systems and undertake annual reporting and submissions to ensure practice maintain
compliance
- Support
the team to improve accessibility, safe and effective working in the compilation
of practice reports, audits and monitoring to plan, review and implement change
under the direction of the practice manager
