Job summary

Working with the Management Team to ensure Ringmead Medical Group meets the desired aims and standards to provide excellent patient services and clinical care.

Main duties of the job

This will include quality, health & safety, workplace regulatory / compliance standards and CQC registration requirements.

The Compliance & IT Lead will need to possess good interpersonal and communication skills especially when dealing with staff, external contractors and most importantly patients.

The Ringmead Medical Group have five sites covering Bracknell, Crowthorne and Sandhurst (Birch Hill, Great Hollands, Crowthorne, Yorktown Road & Owlsmoor). We try to ensure clinicians work predominantly in either the North or South patches.

Our team is ever growing, with an MDT team comprising of Paramedic Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapists, Nursing Associates, Mental Health Practitioner, Social Prescriber and Care Coordinators.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • To ensure the provision of a high-quality patient services within a safe, efficient working environment by providing effective support to the Practice Management Team and staff and encouraging the development and progress of the Practice.
  • Working with the Practice Operations Manager to ensure the practice is CQC compliant at all times using quality control systems to manage, monitor and maintain compliance against Key Lines of Enquiry.
  • Working with the Practice Operations Manager to ensure the practice meets all regulatory requirements such as Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Equipment calibration and CQC requirements
  • Working with the Practice Operations Manager to ensure all risk assessments are carried out on a regular basis, with actions plans for improvement.
  • Working with the Practice Operations Manager to ensure management of the practice premises, building maintenance including health & safety, fire regulations and electrical testing, cleaning contractors, external contractors, staff and patient environment and areas
  • Support the management team to ensure that the programme of works is delivered and recorded e.g. routine maintenance, decoration
  • Working with the Practice Operations Manager to ensure there are appropriate processes in place for monitoring patient safety including acting on safety alerts such as MHRA / CAS medical alerts.

Working with the Practice Operations Manager to ensure robust process in place for the reporting and management of Significant Events or incidents and provide regular reports to the Partners identifying trends and monitor actions taken

  • Conducting audits on a regular basis to ensure implementation of policies, practices and procedures, assessing any gaps in quality compliance and making recommendations for continuous quality improvement.
  • To maintain skills at the current level, and undertake such training and development as may from time-to-time be required to maintain personal competency.
  • With the support of our external IT helpdesk; daily maintenance and problem solving of computers/ printers etc
  • Ensure that the IT system is maintained in good condition and upgrades installed promptly
  • Liaise with local suppliers e.g. Frimley Health re ICE; Docman etc
  • In conjunction with the Assistant Practice Manager - ensure that the doctors and staff at all levels are kept informed of practice and relevant outside issues relating to IT
