Job summary
We are looking for a Medical Receptionist
to join our Team. We pride ourselves in enabling staff to progress and upskill.
We are a 3 partnered Practice with a friendly team and have approx. 10,000 patients
with 2 Surgeries.
We are looking for an individual with:
Excellent communication skills
Experience of working in a customer service role
Previous NHS or GP experience desirable but not necessary
Flexible to cover holidays and sickness
Benefits: We offer the NHS pension, and agenda for
change holidays starting at 27 days (just over 5 weeks) holiday plus Bank Holidays,
that increases with time served. NHS discounts also offered in many retailers
as part of the blue light scheme.
Main duties of the job
General Reception duties. Dealing with patients booking appointments , ordering medication and processing prescription requests. Phoning patients relaying information from the GP.

To provide comprehensive clerical
and administrative support both to the Practice and the Practice Manager and
all associated administration within the objectives set out by the GPs.
Offer general assistance to the
practice team and project a positive image to patients and other visitors,
either in person or via the telephone
Receive, assist and direct patients
in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous,
efficient and effective way
Undertake a variety of
administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice.
Facilitate effective communication
between patients, members the primary health care team, secondary care and
other associated healthcare agencies
