Job summary
Heatherlands Medical Centre is looking for a part time GP to cover
4 sessions at the practice on a Thursday and Friday every week delivering the
full range of Primary Care Services, ensuring the highest standards of care,
working in a supportive and friendly environment.
Manageable workload with average number of patients per session
and will be expected to share administrative workload with the other GPs.
Heatherlands Medical Centre has a friendly team of staff who go
above and beyond to exceed patient expectations.
Main duties of the job
In accordance with the Practice timetable,
as agreed, the post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a
variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and
queries, home visits, checking and signing of repeat prescriptions and dealing
with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Respond to medical problems presented by
temporary residents as required.
Making professional, autonomous decisions
in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from
other health care workers.
Screening patients for disease risk factors
and early signs of illness.
To assist in the establishment of
appropriate systems to manage common chronic medical conditions.
Completion of clinically related
administrative and non-clinical duties needed for the delivery of the service.
Refer patients for further opinions and
interventions according to Practice protocols.
Recording clear and contemporaneous
consultation notes to agreed standards.
Compiling and issuing computer-generated
acute and repeat prescriptions.
Prescribing in accordance with the Practice
prescribing formulary whenever this is clinically appropriate.
