Job summary
Westerhope Medical Group are seeking an enthusiastic and
motivated salaried GP for 6-8 sessions per week. You will be joining a
well-established and friendly practice located in the Outer West of Newcastle
and an active member of Newcastle Outer West PCN. We are based only a few minutes from the A1
turn-off at Westerhope, with excellent local public transport routes for those
who live near by.
We care for approximately 14500 patients from our
purpose-built premises which include two branch sites situated close by. Our
ethos is to provide high quality holistic care to our population by
professional development of team members and continuous evaluation of our care
to meet the challenges of a changing environment.
On our last CQC inspection we were proud to achieve a good
rating for providing responsive services for our care of vulnerable patients
and gained a good rating overall.
We are a team currently consisting of 3 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GP's
and 2 Nurse Practitioners. We have a nursing team of 7 and employ our own
Pharmacist. We have a full and well-trained administrative team
We are fortunate to have access to an expanding team of
additional roles via our PCN including a pharmacy Hub, social prescribers,
mental health link workers, dieticians and first contact physiotherapists to
name but a few.
Salary £ 10,500 - £ 11,500 per session

Main duties of the job
You will be providing GP Primary care services to our patients. This will take the form of face to face appointments, on-call commitments and some telephone slots depending on the needs of the patient. You will be working 6-8 sessions per week which may include working at one of our branch sites. We are flexible about the numbers of sessions you undertake as well as start and finish times - work life balance is very important to us!

Westerhope medical group is a well established practice in outer-west Newcastle upon Tyne - all branch sites are within 5 minutes drive of the Main Pracitce. We ahve a friendly and well trained team including Nurse Practitioners, general nursing and admin team along with many attached staff and serivces including a pharmacy hub, first contact physio and many others.

On call GP mornings and afternoon involves no
pre booked work, just triage and face to face consultations of urgent same day
work and any necessary late visits.
Liaison with other health care professionals and external agencies.
Dealing with referrals arising from clinical caseload to secondary care and other service providers.
Completion of insurances and other private reports when required to do so.
Audits
Recording of Significant Events as and when they arise.
