Job summary
Its a great time to be a part of a newly structured role within the practice, to support the Pharmacy and Clinical team, contribute to a high level of patient care, support the all of the allied health professionals whilst being accountable to the the Practice Manager. We are looking for a Full Time Prescribing Clerk to work full time over 5 days per week

Main duties of the job
Day to day duties will include coordinating and
preparing repeat prescription for patients, data entry on the patient records,
EPS, repeat dispensing and patient and pharmacy liaison. Weekly and monthly auto scripts and lead on patient monitoring reviews. You will also be
required to work closely with the Practice Pharmacy team to support with any
patient queries.

An exciting opportunity has come available to work for The Station Practice. Due to a recent restructure a role for a full time Prescribing Clerk has become available. We are situated next to Hastings high street and Hastings train station with underground parking available. The Station Practice serves around 18,400 patients. The practice consists of 3 partners, 4 practice nurses, 4 HCAs, a reception team, an admin team, allied health professionals and locum support staff.

Job responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily processing of all
repeat (and acute) prescription requests via email, online access and on
the rare occasion paper request.
- Delivering an efficient prescription service
and ensure service targets are met and errors are minimised.
- Actively encourage patients to reconcile
medications to facilitate monthly collections.
- Input data into the patients healthcare
records as necessary.
- Effectively liaise with external services E.g.
district nurses, care homes to ensure safe issuing of medication for
domiciliary and care home patients.
- Comply with legal and professional
requirements, accepted guidance of professional practice, and with safe
systems of work for re-authorising repeat prescriptions.
- Monitor all DMARD monitoring bloods/tests
- Expedite urgent prescription to help ensure
safe and responsive service for patients.
- Up to date with the EKPG formulary and the
national restricted drugs list (Drug Tariff)
- On the GPs and Pharmacist instructions,
inactivate drugs that have never been issued or have not been issued for
specific period of time.
- Liaise with community pharmacies on the supply
of prescribed drugs, alert clinicians of any supply issues and forward
information on the recommended alternatives.
- Liaise with external pharmacy services and
patients as necessary to resolve queries.
- Build good working relationships with local
pharmacies to help enable our prescription service.
- Create tasks and assist clinicians in managing
document workflow relating to prescriptions.
- Undertake training as requested to support
safe and effective services for the practice.
- Carry out any other duties as may reasonably
be requested by the GPs/Practice Manager/Line Manager
