Job summary
Flixton Road Medical Centre is a well established 2 partner, GMS training practice within Trafford.
Due to an increased patient population over the past 12 months, we are looking to recruit additional GPs, covering between 4-8 clinical sessions.
We are open 8am-8pm Monday-Friday plus 9am-5pm Saturday & Sunday. We promote flexible working and remote working is encouraged.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a committed, hardworking, flexible GP who can provide excellent quality of care to our patients.
Each clinic comprises of 15 AskMyGP requests which allows you to make decisions on who you see face to face. You will be expected to process your own results plus take a share of prescription signing and patient letters on behalf of the practice.
The ideal candidates will be someone who is ready to challenge what is perceived as the norm within General Practice and continue to develop new ways of working to benefit patients and staff.
About us
Our clinical team consists of 2 partners, 4 salaried GPs, ST3 GPs, plus nursing team of Practice Nurses and Assistant Practitioners. A First Contact Physio, Clinical Pharmacists, Practice Manager, Assistant Practice Manager, Medicines Manager and experienced reception/administration staff make up a great team.
We are an innovative practice - using Workflow Optimisation, Pathology Go, AskMyGP, Docman and Accurx. We have extended our working hours to 7 days a week to benefit our patients and staff. We have actively promoted remote working (even prior to Covid) for all clinical and non clinical staff to improve work:life balance.
We are high QoF achievers and carry out a wide range of Enhanced Services. We work closely with our Trafford West PCN colleagues for the benefit of all our patients.

- In accordance with the practice
timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to
undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone
consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing
repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence
in a timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous
decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or
referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of
patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk
factors and early signs of illness
- Developing care plans for health in
consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease
management protocols
- Providing counselling and health
education
- Admitting or discharging patients to
and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous
consultation notes to agreed standards
- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Compiling and issuing
computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written
prescriptions whenever possible)
- Prescribing in accordance with the
practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is
clinically appropriate
