Job summary
We are looking for a Summariser to join our friendly practice in Cannock, Staffordshire. As a Summariser you will summarise and Code relevant information from patients records into their electronic records, working in accordance with the Practice Summarising protocol. You will work as part of an efficient and friendly team as a quick learner with attention to detail.

About us
At The Colliery Practice, we are a large forward-thinking Practice with an excellent team of GPs with a range of interests and expertise including 6 partners.Over 14,000 patients, two surgeries in Cannock and Huntington (purpose built/recently extended)
We have excellent Nursing and Admin Support.
We have a District Nursing team, Counselling and Physio teams on site as well as our own Pharmacist and PCN Pharmacists, Mental Health Practitioner and FCPs.
We are actively involved in the local CCG, PCN and GP Federation as well as being listed as aTraining Practice for many types of professions.
We are a paperless Practice and use EMIS, Docman and AccuRX systems. We have a very high QOF/IIF/QIF achievement leading to high patient satisfaction ratings. We have a CQC rating of GOOD.

The main responsibilities of the post-holder will be to summarise and code relevant information from patient's records into their electronic records, working strictly in accordance with the practice summarising protocol.
Main Duties/Key tasks
Assess and sort patient records and letters in preparation for summarising
Review medical records and produce accurate summaries of the patient's medical history
Identify and code diagnoses, medical problems and test results in line with protocol
Accurately Code and document information into our data system
Allocate tasks to relevant clinicians for appropriate actions.
File and retrieve paperwork, covering all coding and summarising queries as necessary
