Job summary

We are looking for an experienced senior manager who is passionate about providing excellent healthcare services utilising their management skills combined with a keenness to challenge and improve operational processes. The successful candidate with have proven IT skills, a willingness to embrace technology and be responsible for the day to day operational running of the practice.

28 - 32 hours per week worked over 4 days (Tuesdays off)

Starting rate of £37,149 rising to £39,007 after successful probationary period (WTE)

6.8 weeks annual leave (including Bank Holidays) pro rata

Ability for remote working

You will have a Degree or similar and ideally will have been in a similar role for at least two years.

We will interview on 15th April at our Avenue site. The interview will consist of a 10/15 presentation on an operational scenario, followed by a question and answer session. The interview will last around 1 hour

Main duties of the job

The following are the core responsibilities of the Operations Manager/Deputy Practice Manager. There may be a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

a. Responsible for the day to day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities

b. Providing leadership and guidance to all staff ensuring that they adhere to policy and procedure at all times

c. Lead the management of the Patient Participation Group

d. First line management for complaints process

e. Implementing systems to ensure compliance with CQC regulations and standards

f. Evaluating, organising and overseeing the staff induction programme

g. Implementing and embedding an effective staff appraisal process

h. Implementing and embedding an effective practice and staff development plan for all staff whilst maintaining a robust training record

i. Implementing effective systems for the resolution of disciplinary and grievance issues, maintaining an overview of staff welfare

j. Actively encouraging and promoting the use of patient online services

k. Guiding staff and developing searches and audits on the clinical system

l. Reviewing and updating clinical templates ensuring they relate to current practice

m. Ensuring staff implement the practice wide approach to the management of all patient services matters

n. Managing DNAs, providing data and planning tools coupled with liaison with referred repeat offenders

Silverdale Practice is an established training Practice based in Burgess Hill West Sussex, and part of Burgess Hill Villages PCN. We have two sites, providing a safe and sustainable service to our registered list of 13,600 patients. Our Practice Business Manager supports our 5 GP Partners, and management team including Finance Manager, Patients Services Manager, Lead Nurse and Management Administrator.

To support the practice in all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and managing staff, optimising efficiency and overall performance, ensuring the practice achieves its long-term strategic objectives in a safe and effective working environment.

To manage and coordinate all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and managing staff, patient services, premises and health and safety management.

Through innovative ways of working, support the practice business manager leading the team in promoting ED&I, SHEF, quality & continuous improvement, confidentiality, collaborative working, service delivery, learning and development and ensuring the practice complies with CQC regulations.
