At Lakeside Healthcare we are looking to recruit a part
time Safeguarding Nurse to come and join our busy safeguarding team based at
Forest Gate Medical Centre in Corby.
At
Lakeside Healthcare we work in partnership with countywide professionals to
ensure that safeguarding adults and children is high on the agenda. We require
staff who share a passion for ensuring adults and children within our
geographical area, are supported and given the opportunity to achieve in life. If you are returning to practice or are

Main duties of the job
The ideal
candidate will be highly motivated Nurse, have knowledge and experience of
safeguarding practices and be flexible and able to work
competently under pressure within the busy GP practice environment.
We require you to have excellent communication,
planning, organisational and prioritisation skills and
the ability to work well as a member of an increasingly busy and demanding team.
Previous Safeguarding Nurse experience of working in primary care or within an
organisation delivering care to vulnerable children and adults will be of
value.

Safeguarding team covers GP surgeries within the Lakeside Healthcare and the 4
PCNs across the county, within the PCN the team also supports GP surgeries that
are not part of Lakeside Healthcare. The
ability to travel between sites is essential.

The Safeguarding Nurse will work as a dynamic member of the
safeguarding team to ensure a high-quality safeguarding service is delivered to
all Lakeside Healthcare (LH) staff, patients and across the Primary Care
Network (PCN) Practices. The individual Safeguarding Nurse will lead multi-disciplinary
meetings (MDTs) across the LHG and for PCN practices, planning and assessing
appropriate care for all children and families. They will work alongside
safeguarding partners within Northamptonshire, Cambridge and Peterborough,
Lincolnshire and Rutland to improve outcomes for vulnerable children, young
people and adults. This will include providing advice, support and relevant
information to a multitude of professionals, enabling the safeguarding team to
assess the most appropriate plan of action for each individual case reviewed. The
Safeguarding Nurse will deputise for the Head of Safeguarding, when required,
to ensure the safeguarding team continue to deliver all the key objectives,
statutory functions and CQC requirements in respect of LH and PCN practices. The
safeguarding Nurse will be responsible for supporting all Doctors and Nurses to
complete their statutory duty within the safeguarding arena. The safeguarding
Nurse will develop and maintain effective working relationships with all colleagues.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse, Midwife, Health Visitor or SN (SCPHN).
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent with significant understanding and experience of care within Primary Health.

- Up to date Revalidation requirements in relation to NMC registration

- Extensive experience as a registered nurse with a background in child care
- Experience of management of safeguarding child and adult cases including attendance at professional meetings, child protection case conferences and ARM meetings.
Desirable
- Experience of working in General Practice.
- Extensive up to date knowledge of safeguarding child and adult protection legislation and guidance
