An opportunity has arisen for a Paramedic to work with our Home Visiting team and our Care Home Team

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the Paramedic is to deliver safe, high quality primary care services to the practice population. Working within the NMC Code of Conduct and professional boundaries, the post holder will deliver primary health care interventions and care.

The post holder will support service development, the safe delivery of policy and procedures, and demonstrate effective professional standards, advocacy and performance.

Supporting the overarching Lakeside Healthcare strategy and service delivery, the Enhanced Clinical Practitioner (ECP) provides complete episodes of care for patients with a wide variety and range of presenting problems and health care needs. This encompasses the provision of evidence based, high-quality care for patients whose issues fall within urgent/acute episodes, long-term/chronic conditions and including health promotion and public health elements.

As an Enhanced Practitioner you will be acting within your professional boundaries, providing care for patients from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of their care with the support of the Supervising or Urgent GP. You will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care for patients within the Lakeside Corby and Brigstock area whilst working autonomously and taking full accountability for patient encounters.

Essential

  • RGM or Paramedic Qualification
  • Current registration with the NMC or HCPC
  • Evidence of Continued professional development portfolio
  • Mentorship and/or leadership training
  • Undertaken Clinical Supervision Training
  • Undertaken Accredited training in Chronic Disease management
  • Safeguarding level 3 in Adults & Children & Young People

Desirable

  • Masters degree - Advanced practice pathway
  • Independent Prescribing Qualification
  • Working at or working towards a masters level or equivalent that encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research, with demonstration of core capabilities and area specific clinical competencies.
  • Undertaken Accredited training in Chronic Disease management

Experience

Essential

  • Can work autonomously in an independent and advanced Healthcare role
  • Experience of providing emergency care for patients and management of patients with complex needs
  • Evidence of wide knowledge base and competency in clinical practice
  • Experience of case management
  • Experience in audit programmes and research studies
  • Evidence of service development initiatives within role portfolio
  • Experience of Clinical Governance and risk assessment/management processes
  • Experience of teaching and mentorship in a
