Job summary

Lakeside Healthcare is continuing to expand its team of Pharmacy Technicians across the organisation and its Primary Care Network member practices. We aim to build the largest Pharmacy Technician workforce in General Practice. We value the contribution that Pharmacy Technicians make within our multi-disciplinary teams, and we aim to continue to safely push the boundaries in-order to develop the Pharmacy Technician role.

At present we have vacancies across the following sites:

St. Neots Primary Care Network (Covering Lakeside St Neots, Great Staughton Surgery, Monkfield Medical Practice and St. Neots Health Centre).

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will be a registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC, be flexible and friendly, and enjoy working as part of a busy team.

Your role will be to predominately support our Pharmacists with Medicines Reconciliation and Medication Reviews. We aim to expand the role as the Pharmacy Technician team continues to grow. Full details can be found in the Job Description.

We have full and part time roles available across the region so we are confident there will be something for you within our team.

If you are working across a Primary Care Network, you will be required to complete the 15 month CPPE Training pathway for Pharmacy Technicians. Please see the CPPE website for further information.

About us

Lakeside Healthcare Group serves the healthcare needs of over 180,000 patients across three counties Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire. Our sites are also part of four Primary Care Networks within these regions.

We currently have a team of 9 Pharmacy Technicians and 15 Pharmacists across our sites. Whilst you will have a main base, your role will form part of this central pharmacy team.

The role of pharmacy within General Practice is part of an exciting programme of transformation which is underpinned by the NHS Long Term Plan. This is an innovative role to work within the Lakeside Healthcare Pharmacy team to ensure safe and effective use of medicines for patients within Lakeside Healthcare. As a starting point the role will initially focus on medicines reconciliation from clinic and discharge letters, and will develop further as the role of the Pharmacy team expands within the organisation. It is vital that effective systems and procedures are in place to ensure that this process is effective, safe and efficient. The right candidate will be involved in day to day management of this with regular and thorough reviews of all medications. The process also ensures that patients receive the appropriate monitoring necessary for the medication they are prescribed.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences
  • Professional Registration with the GPhC
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Experience of working as a Pharmacy Technician in community pharmacy

Desirable

  • Experience of working as a Pharmacy Technician in either a CCG or hospital pharmacy
