Job summary

Ancora Medical Practice are looking to recruit a Patient Services Advisor.

A proven history of admin experience, customer service experience and strong IT skills is a must.

Ancora Medical Practice are a modern, forward thinking Practice with over 20,000 patients.

Working across two sites, the successful applicant will join an established team of PSA's where full training will be given.

Main duties of the job

Reception

Greeting and assisting patients attending/telephoning the surgery.

Managing the appointment system

Liaise with attached and community services such as Emergency Care Practitioners, District Nurses, Hospitals and Social Services etc.

Take repeat prescription orders, both verbally and in writing.

Handing prepared prescriptions to patients.

Ability to cover all roles in the reception

Maintain Jayex Display Board information within SystmOne

Receive specimen samples over reception, ensuring they are handled correctly and dealt with according to Practice Policy

Act as chaperone as requested

Maintain waiting lists, QOF lists and recall lists.

Check patients personal details and update as required

Advise and care navigate patients to correct service as requested

To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures

To have and maintain a through knowledge of all services available to patients

To work in accordance with written protocols

Process and record/attach correspondence to patient records

Scan, attach, email and photocopy as requested

Reception

Greeting and assisting patients attending/telephoning the surgery.

Managing the appointment system

Liaise with attached and community services such as Emergency Care Practitioners, District Nurses, Hospitals and Social Services etc.

Process repeat prescription request in accordance with Practice guidelines

Ability to access and move confidently around email, internet and Microsoft Office.

Telephone

Have working knowledge of the telephone system, during and after hours (after relevant training).

Other Tasks

Open/lock clinical rooms before and after surgery times as requested

Ensure the premises are opened and reception is ready to greet patients on time at the start of each day.

Secure premises at the end of the day, setting the alarm and reporting any problems encountered to the Practice Administrator or Assistant Practice Director (D/St only).

Make tea/coffee for clinical staff if requested.

To undertake elearning and in-house or outside training as required.
