Job summary
Due to the
retirement of the current post-holder, this is an exciting opportunity with a
dual role which encompasses working as the manager of the nursing team and participating
personally in the delivery of clinical care. The proportion of time allocated
to each part of the role is necessarily both variable and flexible. Specific
elements of the role are outlined below but this list is not exhaustive.
Main duties of the job
This autonomous role requires three to five years working experience in Primary Care with a broad knowledge of chronic disease management, (with an area of expertise within one area), knowledge of CQC, QOF and staff management.
This is a demanding and satisfying role, managing a busy teamwithin
an excellent working environment, we are looking for a professional and
confident nurse to join our management team.
About us
The Red and Green Practice is a large practice providing Primary Care to 23,000 patients in the local area. Our team comprises 14 GPs, 10 Practice Nurses, 2 Health Care Assistants, 2 Phlebotomist's plus admin and reception team support. We are a GP training practice so also have GP Registrars and Medical Students on secondment.

- Waterside Health Centre and Blackfield Health Centre management activities for the Practice Nursing team, including:
- Mentoring and coaching a team of Practice Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Health Care Assistants, Phlebotomists and Admin Support Staff
- Recruitment, induction and training of team members
- Ensuring clinical coverage and suitable skill set for all sessions
- Management of staff appraisal system and assisting Registered Nurses with NMC revalidation requirements
- Member of Senior Management Team
- Work strategically with GPs and SMT to develop the nursing service at Red and Green Practice
- Working collaboratively with staff in the three member practices of the Primary Care Network to facilitate a joined-up approach to providing nursing care within the PCN

- Delivery of annual QOF targets
- Management of annual flu vaccine procurement and delivery
- Management of Covid Vaccine Programme specifically organisation of the clinic setting, vaccine management and assisting with recruitment and training of volunteer workforce

- Demonstrated experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
- Experience in managing workloads, rotas, and resource allocation.

- Knowledge & Skills
